‘Makedonia’ Airport of Thessaloniki is only 20 minutes away from “Akti Retzika”. The airport serves domestic and international flights. Some of the foreign destinations are London, Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Zurich, Istanbul, Moscow, Prague, Doha and Larnaca. Intercontinental flights are mainly served by the Athens International Airport where there are about 20 daily flights to Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is connected with several airports in the Greek islands during the summer months.
By Car
- From Athens, Egnatia Road and the border Follow the signs to Thessaloniki. Before entering Thessaloniki, to avoid the city center, follow the signs to the Airport “Makedonia” and Chalkidiki. From there follow the signs to Epanomi. At the airport junction, at the traffic lights you will see signs leading left to Epanomi and right to Thessaloniki, turn left to Epanomi. 4.8 km from the airport at the traffic lights turn left to Epanomi.(Note: do not turn left to the village Trilofos, Intersection for Epanomi is 100 meters after the traffic lights to Trilofos) After passing this junction pass by the village of Plagiari and go straight, following the signs to Epanomi and “Akti Retzika”.
- From Thessaloniki Center,Head to Airport “Makedonia”. At the airport junction, at the traffic lights you will see signs leading straight to Epanomi.4.8 km from the airport at the traffic lights turn left to Epanomi.(Note: do not turn left to the village Trilofos, Intersection for Epanomi is 100 meters after the traffic lights to Trilofos) After passing this junction pass by the village of Plagiari and go straight, following the signs to Epanomi and “Akti Retzika”.
- From the Airport “Makedonia” head to the airport intersection.At the traffic lights (1.8 km from the airport) you will see signs leading left to Thessaloniki and right to Epanomi. Turn right to Epanomi.4.8 km from the airport at the traffic lights turn left to Epanomi. (Note: do not turn left to the village Trilofos, Intersection for Epanomi is 100 meters after the traffic lights to Trilofos)
From Epanomi you follow the signs to Potamos Beach and “Akti Retzika”.
By Bus to Epanomi
- From the Railway Station Take Buses 70 or 70A to Epanomi. Alternatively you can take Buses 2,3 or 8 to IKEA (terminal station). (See Below: From IKEA station)
- From Thessaloniki Center Take Buses 2,3 or 8 to IKEA (terminal station). (See below: From IKEA station)
- From the Airport “Macedonia” Take bus number 79, take off at IKEA station. (See below from IKEA station)
- From IKEA Take bus 69 (69A, 69B,69R or 69N) and get off at Epanomi, stop “church” – at the center of Epanomi (do not reach the terminal stop) (Schedules: http://www.oasth.gr/routes/route.php?ml=9)
- Ticket cost is 1€ (http://www.oasth.gr/service/tickets.php).
- You can travel to Epanomi with the same ticket, although in some cases you may have to change bus.
- The ticket can be issued on the Bus.
- From Epanomi, there is limited bus service to Potamos Beach on July and August (morning till afternoon hours).
By Taxi
- From the Airport: The fare is about 35 EUR (including airport charges).
- From Thessaloniki Center: The fare is about 40 EUR.
- From Epanomi Center: The fare is approximately 10 EUR.
